In reality most of my true journal entries reside in a lovely beat up paper diary that you will never get the honor of reading until I'm dead and can't stop you. But here is a quick run-down on me since leaving for college back in 1997. I was born in western New york--Glad to have gotten out of there. I met my husband Jeremy at college. We both went to Cornell University. I have a BS in biology. I mainly studied ornithology and marine biology. At Cornell I worked as a librarian, was paid to take notes, worked as a resident advisor, took up horseback riding again(this time english rather than western), was in the juggling club, did tai kwon do, swing dance, latin dance, teatrotaller, and many other activities that have escaped my memory. Upon graduation we moved to Truckee, Ca and I worked as a manager at a Wildlife shelter 45 minutes away on the edge of Lake Tahoe! I learned to ski. We moved down to the bay area and I learned to Scuba dive! Then it was off to Rochester, NY (why western NY again - what were we thinking) because Jeremy was doing a PhD work there. I worked doing bird banding and taking photography for www.bbbo.org. Too bad we didn't really find anyone we enjoyed being around- and the town was lacking. Within a year we were back in the bay area. So now we are here again. I worked at www.forthebirdsdvm.com for a year before determining I needed to move on, having determined I'm not ready for vet school. I am keeping that option open though. Jeremy and I are both looking for jobs better suited to our skills and temperments. I've started my own business Daze of Laur www.dazeoflaur.com. I'm actively working on improving my improv skills at historical re-enactment events where I volunteer. In the past few years I've had the opportunity to portray Queen Mary of Scots,Princess Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, and Aleksandra Mazowiecka- Lady in waiting to the Princess of Poland. Finally doing fencing seriously with instruction in the Italian classical style. I'm contemplating starting to horseback ride again but still haven't done so. I love social dancing - lindy hop, balboa, blues, and vintage ballroom and try to keep dancing for exercise. | ||
